Our Principal - Ms. Nicola Labas
Welcome to Innovation Middle School (iMiddle); a public school serving grades 6-8 where students use their skills and their mindsets to be creative and innovative.
The focus of our curriculum is STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) where there is a passion for lifelong learning that fosters a growth mindset. When opening this Middle School in 2008, I knew that this would be a special place for students who want the thrill of discovery and technology beyond the traditional classroom walls. Our 1 to 1 take home technology program (Netbooks and chromebooks) along with our amazing teaching staff allows iMiddle to be an inspirational place where students are able to pursue their passions, develop a sense of purpose and intellectually engage in an inquiry based curriculum that will guide them to understand the world in new and inventive ways.
At iMiddle, we are committed to our vision of inspiring students to be intellectually prepared and engaged in a curriculum focused on the integration of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics with a deliberate worldview and commitment to character and creativity.
A key characteristic of an iMiddle student is that they want to come to school every day and often spend hours beyond the school day learning. We have almost 60 students enrolled in our zero period Band course and almost 1/3 of our students stay after every day for clubs, sports and academic enrichment activities. Our students are highly motivated, engaged and self-directed. Our program supports the school community's variety of learning styles, and teachers work hard to differentiate curriculum to meet each student's needs. We offer GATE, Seminar, and Special Education Programs to meet the diverse needs of our students.
At iMiddle, we move beyond the basics and focus on the building "Super Skills" for the 21st century:
