SSC Information

Overview and Responsibilities

The School Site Council (SSC) is a decision-making group that provides oversight on matters dealing with Federal and State funded programs.  School Site Councils provide oversight of the academic planning and budgeting process associated with the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) in order to meet the needs of all students. SSCs provide meaningful consultation with the principal to oversee the implementation, monitoring, and revision of the SPSA, including reviewing and analyzing data; consulting with advisory groups; evaluating programs and activities; and allocating the expenditure of funds available to the school through categorical programs.



The Single Plan for Student Achievement

The Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) identifies and addresses the instructional needs of students and specifies how categorical funds provided through the Consolidated Application will be used to accomplish the goals outlined in the plan.




The Title I Parent Involvement Policy

Innovation Middle School has developed a written Title I parental involvement policy with input from Title I parents. This policy is developed annually by the school’s SSC and SGT Committee. The school distributes a draft of this policy every fall and seeks input from incoming parents.  Final copies are made and distributed to the families at Innovation Middle School.
