Welcome from the Holmes PTA President
Welcome to the 2019 – 2020 school year, Holmes Families! We are so fortunate to have a great principal, amazing teachers and staff, awesome kiddos, but most of all…we are so lucky to have fantastic, supportive and involved parents at our school. When you combine all those things together, you have a true community.
And yes…Holmes PTA…is the best!! And not just because I’m president this year hahaha…I mean, it doesn’t hurt lol, and the rest of our board is extremely dedicated and hardworking, but even with all that—our PTA is nothing without you, our parents. The reason our school has the top notch reputation it does is because every aspect of our community works together. Everyone does their part to make sure our students are getting the most out of their time at Holmes.
So here’s my ask—just get involved when, where and however you can. We’re not asking for a 5-hour commitment a week…far from it. We’re just asking that you do what YOU can do. Help out at the level that is comfortable for you…whatever works for your time and resources. If it’s an hour in the classroom every other week, great! Your child’s teacher will adore you. If it’s taking papers home to grade or working at our book fairs, that’s a huge help also! Each person contributing a little bit amounts to a whole LOT of support for kiddos and our school. And bonus…statistics show that the kids of parents who get involved do better in school. There will be plenty of opportunities to get involved at Holmes, so thank you, in advance, for doing what you can.
Also, if you haven’t already, please join Konstella, our online parent community, as well our Holmes Elementary Facebook page so you don’t miss out on anything! It’s the best way to stay in touch with teachers, other parents and to make sure you know what’s going on in your child’s classroom as well as school-wide.
Lastly, our mantra for the year is “Be safe. Be kind. Do your best.” Let’s help our kiddos live this out and have their best year at Holmes yet. Take care and see you around school!!
