Dear Hancock Elementary School Families,


            Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year.  My name is Nona Richard, and it is an honor to be your new principal. My passion is providing a quality educational experience for all children.  As school teachers, custodians and office workers are busily preparing for our first day of school, Monday, August 29, I would like provide important information for you.


Upcoming Dates:


Monday, August 15 from 8:30 to 2:30 PM

-Student registration and enrollment begins in the front office on Monday and continues daily. *New students only.


Friday, August 26 at 9:00 AM:

-Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Orientation


Classroom Assignments Posted at 5:00 PM Friday, August 26


Monday, August 29 at 7:45 AM *First Bell Rings!  Instruction begins at 7:50 AM.


Friday, September 2 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM:

            Meet and Greet with the principal in the staff lounge


Construction Updates:

      We are excited that Hancock Elementary is undergoing a three-year renovation process.  To ensure the safety of students during construction, we request students not bring bikes to school and choose an alternate path other than the south side access gate.  The south side access gate will be locked.  Please plan your walk to school accordingly.  Thank you for your cooperation.


            I realize that you have many choices about where to send your children to school, and I would like to thank you for choosing Hancock Elementary.  Our outstanding teachers, office staff and school personnel are eager to make this school year exceptional.
