It is hard to believe there are only 3 weeks left of school. This has definitely been a crazy year and we are still waiting to see what next school year might look like. As we head into the last few weeks, I want to encourage our students to stay strong and keep working. We want to ensure all of our students are prepared for next year.
I want to remind everyone that there is NO school this Friday, May 22 and Monday, May 25 in honor of Memorial Day. Teachers will be taking attendance on Thursday, May 21 at 4:00. As a reminder, students are marked present or in attendance, if they do one or more of the following things: Participate in a teacher’s zoom class, submit work each week, participate in a teacher’s office hours, or participate in an online chat through Google or Canvas. Attendance is taken for each class, so some students might “show up” to some classes, but not all. If you have any questions regarding attendance for a class please contact the teacher, or you can email myself or Mr. G.
The district is starting to give the schools information on how to handle end of the year activities and procedures. I will be hosting a Zoom meeting with the 8th grade teachers this week to finalize our plans, and send out an email to 8th grade families on Wednesday. This will include how and when 8th graders will return school materials, picking up promotion certificates, awards ceremony, and what promotion will look like. Please be sure to look for this email message this week.
For 6th and 7th grade families that will be moving this summer and not returning to Farb in the Fall, we ask that you email myself or call 619-800-4828. We have set aside June 8th as a day for these families to return textbooks, laptops, and instruments to school. More information to come. For the 6th and 7th graders who WILL be returning to Farb, it currently looks like you will be holding onto school supplies until the Fall.
Finally, just a reminder to purchase your yearbook if you have not done so already at https://yearbookforever.com/
Again, I want to thank you for your patience and support as we navigate through online learning. Please do not hesitate to email me If you have any questions or concerns (email@example.com) or you can call 619-800-4828.
