Mrs. Galaviz, Vice Principal
Our Vice Principal, Mrs. Meridith Galaviz, is very excited to be a part of the Ericson Community. Prior to her appointment as Vice Principal, she was a Literacy Resource Teacher at several elementary schools throughout the San Diego Unified School District, working with students, teachers, administrators, and families to improve teaching and learning in literacy. Before that, she spent many years as a classroom teacher in San Diego Unified, working with students from first to sixth grade, as well as a year teaching at an international school in Munich, Germany. She has received extensive training in literacy and language development, and has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to take on a wide-variety of roles at the schools at which she has taught. Mrs. Galaviz has a passion for working with all stakeholders in order to provide a nurturing environment in which all children experience success.
Mrs. Galaviz graduated from Duke University in North Carolina, received her Masters in Learning and Teaching from the University of San Diego, and her Administrative Credential from San Diego State University's Aspiring Administrators Program. In addition to her passion for education, Mrs. Galaviz enjoys playing soccer, snowboarding, and travelling, as well as spending time with her husband and young son, Noah. She enjoys the diversity of the Ericson Community and is so proud to be a part of a school that fosters academic excellence and a love of learning in all children.
