Dear Families,

Welcome to Fourth Grade! I have an exciting year planned, and I look forward to making this a successful year for your child at EBS Elementary School.

First week

Our first week of school will include establishing our classroom agreements and learning new routines. Important papers will be sent home during the next few weeks.

Back to School Night

Our Back to School night will be Thursday, August 30, from 4:45-5:15 p.m. in the MPR and 5:15 to 5:40 pm in the classroom.  There will be a lot of information presented in a short period of time, and you will have an opportunity to sign up for classroom and school-wide positions and parent/teacher conferences.

In fourth grade we encourage and expect our students to be responsible for completing and turning in their homework. All homework is recorded by each student in their planners. The planners and a black folder are to remain in their binders and go back and forth from school to home daily. Parents are asked to sign the planner each school day to assure that homework and other important information is reviewed. Please continue to help your child establish good homework habits by:

·         Establishing a daily time for homework

·         Providing a quiet, well lighted area

·         Providing appropriate supplies

·         Letting your child complete their own work, giving assistance only when needed

·         Checking to see that the homework is completed and ready to return to school

Additional Information:

Snack & Lunch

Your child will have time for a nutrition break and lunch every day (no snack on Thursdays). They may purchase food at school or bring a snack and lunch from home. Please provide a healthy snack and/or lunch and place everything in JUST ONE zippered lunch bag.

Student Supplies/Classroom Donations

All supplies necessary for your child's education are required to be provided for free by the school.  The purchasing of supplies by parents is optional. This list of supplies is provided as a courtesy to those parents who wish to purchase supplies for their child. A supply list is on the EBS web site.

P.E. Clothes and Shoes

Your child will participate in DAILY P.E. and/or recess activities. Your child should wear comfortable clothes and proper footwear for these activities. Hats and sunscreen are also recommended.

Everything else:

I use a Learning Management System (LMS) for my class. I post a daily summary and homework. Resources for the class are also found there. Log in information will be provided for you. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
