Dear E.B. Scripps Family and Friends,
It is my pleasure to be your child’s physical education teacher at E.B. Scripps Elementary for the 2016-17 school year. The focus of my program is to teach the development of healthy lifestyles, motor, social and personal skills.
I will have your child for at least 45 minutes of physical education when scheduled. Each lesson will include an activity to develop health related fitness (development of muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility) and an activity to develop skill-related fitness. (skills that are manipulative/sports-related) I have many exciting and fun activities planned: fitness, ball-handling skills, dance, cooperative games, jump rope and movement activities to name a few. I am looking forward to a great year.
The effectiveness of this program will be enhanced by your support and cooperation.
I expect all students to participate. Asthma and bee-sting allergies are two examples of medical concerns that I would like to know about to safely teach your child. If your child has a limitation and needs to modify or cannot participate, please write a note excusing him/her from P.E. activities. Appropriate clothing is also very important. Students should wear sturdy tennis shoes and clothing that allows students to move freely.
Volunteers are always welcome. Please complete the necessary paperwork and return it to the office staff. Everyone who is not an enrolled student needs to sign-in at the office and wear a visitor or volunteer badge before joining us. Please remember to sign-out at the office when you leave. Thank you again for your willingness to be a part of our classes.
Please contact me if you have any questions about the program. Email is the best way to contact me. I can also be reached in the office by dialing (858) 693-8593. Please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.
