Hello, East Village students, parents and staff. I am beyond excited to be here and look forward to working with you. I grew up in the LA area but once I came to San Diego to attend SDSU in 1988 I never left. After college, I worked many different jobs to support myself before returning to school to get my teaching credential. I began my teaching career at Memorial Academy, worked at SDHS for 12 years, and taught all levels of secondary English. After serving as a Dean of Students, my first, official administrative assignment was at Pacific Beach Middle School as Vice Principal. Outside of work, I like the ocean, travelling and supporting my sons’ sports interests. My wife Ana, my sons Dylan (16) and Nick (14) and I are fortunate to have extended family in town. We enjoy spending time with them just about every weekend. This past summer, after many years of planning and saving, our family took a vacation in Europe. It was a fantastic experience that really opened my eyes. This is what motivates me when I consider my position as Principal at EVHS: the opportunity to help students realize their potential, expand their world and make a positive impact in their community.
