Kendra Madden is a dedicated professional who cares about the success of her students. As a literature teacher and AVID coordinator for East Village High School, Kendra Madden was five years old when she first began teaching all her stuffed animals.
Prior to joining EVHS, Kendra worked as a teacher for Morse High School in San Diego. In total, she has dedicated over 12 years to working in the education field and has worked at East Village High School since it opened in 2008, teaching both 10th Grade Advanced World Literature and 12th Grade AP English Literature and Composition.
Kendra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies with an emphasis in English Literature, and a Master of Arts in English Literature both from the University of London, King’s College. She is also GATE (Gifted and Talent Education) and NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards) certified.
What activities do you enjoy outside of teaching?
When I’m not at EVHS, I spend a lot of my free time doing CrossFit workouts. I also enjoy watching critically-acclaimed films, and making and eating exquisite foods.
