AVID Distinguished School

East Village High School has been named an AVID distinguished school reflecting the excellence of our AVID program and teachers.  AVID is a college preparation program that teaches students the skills necessary to be successful in college and beyond.

 

Announcing Our New Partners

A partnership between Teatro Izcalli, San Diego Opera, and East Village High School is bringing exciting arts opportunities to our students! The partnership will enable theater and script writing through SDUSD's "Learning Through the Arts" program, painting classes with local artist Inocente, and music classes with various local artists. 

 

1st Place at SD Press Club Awards

We took home a first place award at the San Diego Press Club's 43rd Annual Excellence in Journalism Awards for a press release about our name change and the flier from the Student Showcase & Spring Festival. EVHS was featured in the San Diego Union Tribune in an story entitled, "San Diego Early/Middle College, Now East Village High School, Offers a High School Diploma and a Whole Lot More." Congratulations      

East Village High School has been awarded a SILVER medal for being ranked #1441 by U.S. News & World Report in the "Best High Schools" National Rankings! Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required tests and and how well they prepare students for college. Great Job!

Mitch Booz New Principal for East Village High School
Exciting news! Former PB Middle School VP Mr. Mitch Booz has been selected to be East Village High School's new principal! Welcome to the EVHS family!
Jon Harper's Grand Prize winning MTS Poster MTS Ad Competition Grand Prize Winner
Look out for MTS Grand Prize winner Jon Harper. His poster will be displayed at bus stops throughout the city. The first poster will be displayed at the 5th & Broadway stop in late July.

Parent Volunteers Wanted
East Village High School is looking for parent volunteers to assist teachers and chaperone students on field trips to the Balboa Park museum free days on Tuesdays. If you have some free time and are interested please contact the school office at (619) 525-2000
