Vice Principal Morales

Welcome Panthers!

Ms. Morales was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California.  She attended the University of Southern California and obtained her teaching credential and BA in Curriculum and Instruction.  Ms. Morales moved to San Diego after college and began working for San Diego Unified School District in 1988.   Her first teaching job was at Marvin Elementary in Allied Gardens, where she taught 5th and 6th grade.  She attended San Diego University and obtained her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 1989.  In 2000, Ms. Morales transferred to Vista Grande Elementary School where her sons attended school.  She taught 4th and 5th grade for 13 years.  During this time she obtained her administrative credential.

In 2013,  she obtained  the position of Program Manager for History/Social Sciences for the district.  As a Program Manager she worked with various K-12 schools in the district helping teachers and staff members become more familiar with common core teaching strategies in language arts and social sciences.  Ms. Morales worked with the district's safe school task force to bring forth inclusive curriculum for all students.  She has also been a part of  grant writing for the district to help revise the financial literacy curriculum for seniors in high schools, and  has formed a community partnership with the USS Midway to bring students for yearly visits.

Ms. Morales has 3 sons.  Her oldest son, Benjamin, who is 23,  lives in San Diego.  Her second son, Daniel, a junior in college, is currently attending the University of Southern California and is a member of the Naval ROTC. Her third son, Noah,  is a senior at Steele Canyon High School in El Cajon.  Ms. Morales enjoys traveling, learning about historical places, and spending time with her three sons at the Padres and USC games.
