Site Governance Team Agenda and Minutes

De Portola Middle School’s purpose is to prepare highly literate students to meet the challenges of a global and technological society by creating a setting that addresses the needs of all ability levels and learning styles, maintains high standards, enhances and nurtures self-esteem, and provides a broad range of educational experiences.  Our goals include:

  1. Infusing literacy and state standards into all curricular areas.

  2. Raising all students’ achievement test scores and closing the achievement gap.

  3. Promoting student involvement in school and the community.

  4. Expanding communication and involvement between parents and site staff.

  5. Increasing teacher collaboration across grade levels and disciplines.

  6. Developing increased opportunities for exposure to and relevant use of technology during the school day and at home.

The purpose of De Portola Middle School Site Governance Team (SGT) is to provide a forum for the exchange of information between all members of the DPMS community and to facilitate shared-decision making on issues as enumerated in these by-laws with the expressed purpose of improving the achievement of all students through quality teaching and learning experiences.
