With lots of hands it will make this job easy and successful!
Here is a brief overview of the project for those of you who are doing this for the first time:
WHAT IS IT?
Incredible Kids Day is an opportunity for students to recognize each other for all the things that make them incredible and celebrate what makes them who they are. All students, with the guidance of their Social Studies teachers, will have the opportunity to identify the positive attributes and qualities that make their classmates special. Parent volunteers will compile these compliments and create a personalized "tribute" for each child, showcasing comments recorded by their peers. Teachers will distribute the completed Incredible Kids certificates to students in June.
Parent Volunteers will receive an email containing an Excel spreadsheet of their assigned homeroom’s data entries. After proof-reading/spell-checking/editing the entries as needed, volunteers will copy and paste each student’s compliments into a Word document, and then print and tie scrolls using the provided paper and ribbon.
Social Studies teachers will distribute finalized Incredible Kids scrolls to students in their homeroom period. There are plenty of open spots on SignUp Genius: (link coming soon). Please spread the word to any friends that would enjoy being a part of this project.
