Important Update For Parents Regarding Honor Roll & Student Recognition

Our Fall student recognition assembly scheduled for February has been postponed due to a delay in the construction project taking place in the auditorium. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of March. We will communicate the date once it has been identified. Students selected to participate in the event will be notified within the next couple of weeks.

Dana Families,

We have made changes to our student recognition program to increase alignment with the values and beliefs we are trying to promote in our students.

The Dana Student Recognition Assembly is an opportunity to acknowledge students who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment towards demonstrating the values and beliefs we are trying to promote in our students. Students are eligible to receive two types of awards:

  • Academic Recognition - Academic GPA of 3.25 or greater
  • Character Recognition - Students are recognized for their grit/resilience, honesty, kindness/empathy, responsibility, and courage. Each teacher identifies one student per category.
  • At the end of the year we acknowledge a small group of students for At the end of the year we will also recognize 14 Outstanding Students in the following categories: Leadership Award, Richard Henry Dana Mariner Award, Award for Innovative Thinking, Larry Zeiger Award for the Arts, Tariq Khamisa Peace Award, OB People's Co-Op Go Green Award, and the Award for Physical Excellence.

The date for the Fall student recognition event has not been determined yet. More information to follow.

Students are recognized twice a year. Students selected to participate in the student recognition assembly will receive an invite via U.S. Mail prior to the event. We have developed a FAQ to explain why changes were made and how you can determine if your child will be recognized. Please take a moment to view this link.
