End Of Year Student Recognition Assembly June 9th

Dana Families,

Due to the school closure, we will acknowledge outstanding students electronically on June 9th. We plan to use a two-part process. Students will receive electronic copies of their certificate via email on June 9th. In addition, we will announce the names of a small group of students earning the Special Recognition Award during on grade level video released on June 9th.

Students will be recognized for one of the following four categories:

  • Principal Academic Awards - for students receiving an award for earning an outstanding Academic GPA - students will receive an electronic version of their certificate via email. Normally this award is calculated based upon the Semester 2 - Progress Report 2 grade. Due to school closures, we will use the Semester 1 grade this year. Please follow this link to view a GPA jobaid designed to help parents understand how GPAs are calculated.
  • Character and Special Recognition Awards - students will receive an electronic version of their certificate via email
  • Biliteracy Certification - students will receive an electronic version of their certificate via email
  • Special Recognition Awards - students will receive an electronic version of their certificate and their names will be mentioned in the June grade level broadcast. Parents of students being acknowledged for one of our Special Recognition Awards will be notified via email.

Please follow this link to learn more about each of the categories referenced above.

Principal Irwin and Vice Principal Lepetri have included an overview of our student recognition program in the June grade level broadcast. While we will not be reading the name of every child who received an award, we are encouraging our students to watch the broadcast in order to be clear regarding why they are being acknowledged. Please follow this link on or after June 9th to view our June Grade Level Assembly.

To clarify, we are not conducting an online zoom meeting where we read the names of students live. Students will receive their certificate via email.

We apologize for any confusion that may exist.
