Recorder Club (After School Activity)
Recorder Club is an afterschool group for 4th and 5th graders that meet on Wednesdays from 12:15-1 p.m.with a small advanced group meeting from 1-1:20 p.m.
Recorder Club is for 4th and 5th grade students who already know how to play the recorder and want to play more difficult songs on soprano and tenor recorders. The small ensemble teaches players how to play with only one or two students on a part.
The advanced group is for students who were in Recorder Club as 4th graders and already know how to play alto and sopranino recorder as well as soprano and tenor recorders.
The Recorder Club performs on campus throughout the year, holiday performance in December, and the Recorder Festival in May. In 2013, CPJMA choir students were invited by Mayor Kevin Faulconer (then Councilmember), in opening his State of the District Address with the National Anthem.
Every year, drivers are needed to take students to the Recorder Festival in March, an event usually held at Ellen Browning Scripps Elementary in Scripps Ranch. Please speak to Mrs. Orem to find out the requirements to be a parent driver.
