This EVA Suit (Space Suit) is an actual Space Suit from the Space Shuttle Columbia. It was at the 2019 Comic Con for the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. I WAS IN A REAL SPACE SUIT THAT WAS IN SPACE!!!!!

As I enter my 21st year of teaching, and 6th year at CPMA, I can’t help but reflect over how I got here: I came to CPMA after spending 10 years teaching at the San Diego High School complex. Prior to that, I taught middle school for five years at Gompers, after receiving my degree in English Literature and my teaching credential from the University of California San Diego. I was inspired to become a teacher by those who taught me, went the extra mile for their students, and truly seemed to enjoy what they do, such as Miss Hoobler, my 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade teacher whom I still hold up as an example as to what a teacher should be.

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”

~ Cicero

Each year, I strive to instill in my students an interest in reading and writing. If we’re lucky, the child will find stories they enjoy and will want to share their discoveries and opinions with family and friends.  Nothing beats finding the just-right book to get lost in the worlds of the past, present, or of the imagination.

“When I get a little money I buy books and if I have any left I buy food and clothes.”

 ~ Desiderius Erasmus

In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out at home with my small menagerie of cats, birds, chickens, a dog, and my ever loving husband.  Besides reading, I love keeping up on the latest space missions of NASA or Space X, going to the movies, gardening and of, course, attending Comic-Con each summer.
