CPMA will begin enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year on Monday, February 27th. CPMA may only enroll students who appear on our School Choice List or who live in the Madison cluster and have submitted an Enrollment Preference Request card for CPMA. If you have received a notice of acceptance, please verify your intent to enroll ASAP by contacting Mrs. Rohrbacher via email at email@example.com.
Enrollment Appointments will begin on Monday Feb 27th. Enrollment office hours are as follows:
· Monday: 9:00-12:00
· Tuesday: 12:00-3:30
· Wednesday-Friday: 9:00-12:30 and 1:30-3:30
If you are coming to enroll please bring the following paperwork:
- Proof of residence (utility bill, lease agreement, mortgage statement)
- Immunization records
- Student most recent grades
- Birth certificate (if new to the district)
- Copy of IEP - first 2 pages (if applicable)

CPMA is an arts magnet for middle school students, grades 6, 7 and 8. Students who plan to come to CPMA should be interested in pursuing rigorous academic study and the excitement of artistic endeavor. We find the students that are happiest and most successful at CPMA are children who need to dance, sing, act, play their instruments and/or create visual art every day to feel satisfied and complete.
Students who live or attend school within the Madison Cluster may enroll with CPMA by completing an Enrollment Preference Request card. Cards will be available at your student’s elementary school. Students attending within the Madison Cluster who do not submit an Enrollment Preference Request form will be assigned to Innovation Middle. All other students are enrolled by application through the district’s Neighborhood Schools and Enrollment Options department.
The Neighborhood Schools and Enrollment Options department compiles a waiting list of applicants, and enrollment is offered only to students on the waiting list. The application period for the 2017-2018 school year will be October 3rd through November 14, 2016.Applications for the 2017-2018 school year can be found at www.sandiegounified.org/school-choice-application . Priority is given to students who currently attend arts magnet elementary schools and siblings of current CPMA students.
We enroll around 350 new 6th grade students every year, so being accepted as a 6th grader is much more likely than waiting for 7th grade enrollment. Most of our 7th grade seats are filled by our continuing 6th graders. However, we do enroll some new 7th and 8th graders every year, so we encourage you to apply. We have Magnet Tours every Tuesday that school is in session from 10:00-11:00 AM starting September 20th , 2015. Please call for an appointment: 858-800-5551.
