Senior Walk: A Tradition at Hoover
Each year in June, 40 - 50 Hoover Seniors put on their caps and gowns and walk thru the halls, classrooms, PE fields or auditoriums of our Hoover Cluster schools. Students cheer them on, giving high fives and sharing in the excitement of the upcoming high school graduation. The Senior Walk might include hallways, auditoriums, classroom visits, or PE fields. We do leave some time at the end of the visit for Seniors to talk in small groups with elementary and/or middle school students and hold a brief Q & A ending with a “pep talk and words of wisdom”. Seniors share their college plans and give some advise to students as they transition to either Clark or Wilson Middle and Hoover High School.
We believe that this is an opportunity for younger students to visualize themselves as future Cardinals and Hoover High school graduates as well as remind our current Seniors of their K – 12 journey.
