Supporting Veterans' Children Through Transition

The Family and Community Engagement Team would like to share this opportunity to learn more about how to support Veterans' Children through transitions.   This program has been developed by the Military Child Education Coalition.  They hope that you can register and attend this event Friday, December 1st at the Harold J. Ballard Parent Center located at 2375 Congress Street, San Diego, CA 92110 from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.  If you know of any military veterans that would like to attend, please share the flyer for the event and have them register.  This is a free event and all are welcome.

Supporting Veteran's Children Through Transitions Flyer

Learning Objectives:

- Explore and identify the academic and social-emotional implications for children and youth when their parents voluntarily or involuntarily transition from the military to civilian life.
- Explore and identify the academic and social-emotional implications during military to civilian transition for children and youth whose military parents have died, been wounded, or have combat-related illnesses.
- Discover resources and integrate positive strategies to address implications of the military to civilian life transition for children and youth.

Time: Breakfast is at 8:00 AM.  Training is 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
