If you weren't able to attend the Mindfulness presentation on Parent Involvement Day, we've posted it below. Thank you for your support!
Parent involvement is very important at the middle school level whether it's on campus, behind the scenes, or at home. We appreciate that our community holds education in high regard and is very supportive of our students, staff, and school. We hope that you will be able to join us on National Parent Involvement Day on Thursday, November 16 for a Princpal's Chat and parent workshop on mindfulness with our school psychologist, Dr. Orletta Nguyen.
Mindfulness occurs when we pay attention to what is happening in the here and now. We observe our emotions, our thoughts, our surroundings, in an even-minded, nonjudgmental way. Learning to be mindful of what’s happening in the moment helps us make sound decisions rather than be ruled by our emotions. Mindful students learn better, are more emotionally stable, and generally happier individuals. Please join us in learning about mindfulness and how it can be a lifelong practice to manage stress and cope with what life can throw at you. Learn how to encourage mindful practices for yourself and for your child.
Please RSVP: To ensure that we order enough food for breakfast, please reserve your space by contacting Julie Vitale, Finance Clerk at 858-586-7001, ext. 2211 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
