Ms. Oliver’s Class Shows CAN-passion during the holiday season with a CAN-paign! Carson families donated over 500 cans of non-perishable food items.
Several weeks before the holiday, Ms. Oliver’s 5th graders noticed a homeless woman on their way back from Montgomery Middle School. Ms. Oliver started teaching ELD class lessons on compassion. They decided to run a CAN-passion CAN-paign (very punny aren't they?!) for the holiday season.
They asked all students at Carson STEAM Magnet bring canned goods or other non-perishables to school over a two week collection period. They were hoping to collect one can per student. Carson families stepped up to the challenge and donated over 500 cans of non-perishable items that were donated to people in need.
