On Saturday, April 22, 2017, two members of our Cabrillo Family were recognized for all of the work and effort they have put into this past year. Fourth grade student, Lucas Gibbons was recognized not only for his work ethic and volunteerism on campus - leading school tours, presenting awards, leading assemblies, but also for all the work he has done in the community with his boy scout troop. He freely gives up his time on campus and off knowing that his community service will only make our world a better place to be. Amy Andersen, parent of a 1st and 2nd grader at Cabrillo volunteers regularly in her children's classrooms. Even after she began classes for a nursing program, she still manages to come as often as she can to help out. Both Lucas and Mrs. Andersen were presented awards from Council-member Lori Zapf in Mission Beach at the Second Annual Volunteer Recognition Breakfast. The Cabrillo Staff are very grateful that we have such dedicated parents and students at our school site.
