San Diego Unified School District is working to support practica and fieldwork students in the field of School Psychology.  Due to the size of the district and our desire to provide a supportive experience, we require pre-intern student to contact the Related and Specialized Services Office and complete a practicum application prior to being able to complete hours within our district.  Students are required to commit to at least one full day per week.  Applicants will be required to submit the documents listed below along with a practicum application:

·         Unofficial transcripts of graduate course work to date

·         University’s requirements and  sequence of study for school psychology

·         Copy of Certificate of Clearance

·         Current TB test

·         Evidence of Professional Liability Insurance

Students shall secure Professional Liability Insurance at their own expense and carry such insurance in full force during the term of their respective placements in an amount of no less than $1 Million per occurrence and $3 Million annual aggregate.

Please contact Rodrigo Enciso at the Related and Specialized Services Office office to receive a practicum application (renciso@sandi.net).  After students are approved through the RSS office, they will work with Kristin Makena to locate an approved supervisor (both through the university and RSS office) that is able to provide the necessary guidance to fulfill this pre-intern experience.  Practicum hours are unpaid and cannot be completed as part of your job duties or in the same location that you work as a San Diego Unified School District Employee.

We will begin accepting applications in August 14, 2017 for the 2017-2018 school year.
