THIS WEEKEND San Diego Unified Partners with the Cesar Chavez Service Clubs to Host Benefit Concert for Victims of Mexico City Earthquake

San Diego Unified School District and the Cesar Chavez Service Clubs are hosting a benefit concert for people impacted by the recent Mexico City earthquake on Sept. 30 from 12-3 p.m. at Hoover High School.

The benefit will feature a variety of performance groups like Ballet Folklorico “Raices” from Rosa Parks Elementary School, traditional Mexican mariachi music from “Mariachi Juvenil,” Rock en Español from local band “Los Hollywood,” and jazz music from the Hoover High Band.
In lieu of an admission fee to the concert, both monetary donations and emergency supplies, such has non-perishable canned foods, bottled water and baby care items, will be accepted at the event. All proceeds collected will be donated to the earthquake victims through the Mexican Red Cross.
San Diego Unified prides itself in giving students the tools to get involved and make a positive change in the world. Our partnership with the Cesar Chavez Service Clubs on this event and throughout the entire school year helps us continue our commitment to student civic leadership.
