University City High School Sophomore Henry Helmuth competes in Rubik’s Cube competitions and is one of the top-ranked solvers in the country.

Helmuth first started solving Rubik’s Cube a few years ago.

“Back in middle school, a friend brought one to school and I was interested in learning how to solve it and wanted to get a faster time than him,” said Helmuth.

Helmuth soon began competing after his first few experiences with the Rubik’s Cube.

“I first started competing a few months after I started getting into it. By then, I could solve it in around 20 seconds. I have been competing for almost two years now,” he said.
