SAN DIEGO (July 12, 2017) - The San Diego Unified School District, along with it’s students, teachers and stakeholders, is proud to once again participate in the San Diego Pride parade on July 15. This is the fourth consecutive year the district has marched in the parade and is expecting its largest ever group of participants. The district’s “Unified with Pride” contingent will be “Superhero” themed.

San Diego Unified school buses will lead the contingency displaying “Unified with Pride” school spirit banners decorated by Gay-Straight-Alliance (GSA) student club members from schools throughout the district.

The Pride Youth Marching Band is comprised of San Diego county high school and college students and directed by San Diego Unified’s Visual and Performing Arts Director, Russ Sperling.

Ahead of Saturday’s Pride Parade, join the Pride Youth Marching Band members as they kick off Pride weekend at the Spirit of Stonewall Rally Friday, July 14 at 6 p.m. The rally will take place at the Hillcrest Pride Flag located on 1500 University Ave in San Diego.
