BACKGROUND:  The new multisport field replaced a decomposed granite play area with a high-quality turf playfield for the students at Baker Elementary School. The construction project began summer 2016, and was completed in this fall. The new field represents an investment of more than $580,000 into the students at Baker ES and the Mountain View Community. The construction project was funded by San Diego Unified School District’s Proposition Z bond measure passed by voters in 2012.
