San Diego Unified participates in California’s Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI), a statewide effort that helps schools sustain behavioral health and wellness services for students.
Beginning September 1, San Diego Unified families whose health insurance information and/or consent is not already on file will receive an individualized email from Paradigm Healthcare Services, the district’s CYBHI billing partner. The email will ask families to review or provide health insurance information and consent related to eligible school-based behavioral health and wellness services.
Through CYBHI, San Diego Unified may receive reimbursement for eligible services already being provided to students. This reimbursement helps support and sustain behavioral health and wellness services across the district.
What Families Should Know
- There is no cost to families. Families will not be charged a copay, deductible, or other out-of-pocket cost through the CYBHI Fee Schedule program.
- Students can continue to receive school-based support whether or not a family provides insurance information.
- Providing insurance information helps San Diego Unified receive reimbursement for eligible services already being provided.
- Paradigm Healthcare Services is working with San Diego Unified to support this process.
