CPMA (Creative Performing Media Arts) Magnet Middle School is seeking future 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who are interested in learning through the arts. The Creative Performing and Media Arts (CPMA) Magnet Middle School allows students to use their creativity in the classroom, enabling them to tell their stories and be exposed to the arts, new perspectives, and innovative critical thinking.
Art pathways that we offer include: Orchestra, Band, Jazz Band, Piano & Guitar, Choir, Visual Arts, Video Production, Dance, Theatre, Technical Theatre, Creative Writing, and Multimedia & Design. Most students can take up to two different art pathways, and all of our academic classes use arts integration.
Through our programs, students will have multiple performance opportunities throughout the year: plays, concerts, and dance recitals. Other production experiences include set designing, lights, sound, stage managing, visual art and media exhibits, and filming.
CPMA is a free, public magnet school that buses in many students from all over the city of San Diego. Our most recent group of 6th graders arrived from 52 different elementary schools.
