Students who live in California’s 78th Assembly District are invited to participate in Assemblymember Chris Ward’s Fourth Annual Civics Competition. The contest gives students a chance to explore their community, get creative and share their ideas for making a difference.
Opportunities vary by grade level:
- 4th grade: Create an art piece featuring one or more California State Symbols.
- 8th grade: Identify an issue in your community and share how you would solve it.
- 11th & 12th grade: Nominate a local Community Hero who demonstrates civic leadership, advocacy or community service.
