As we kick off the new school year, San Diego Unified is introducing a new learner-centered technology resolution to help students stay focused, healthy, and engaged in learning.
Beginning August 10, students will see a few important changes:

Video-streaming platforms, such as YouTube, will only be available on district-issued Chromebooks when enabled by teachers for instructional purposes.

Non-instructional gaming platforms will still be prohibited on district-issued devices.

Computer carts will be removed from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classrooms, while ensuring students with Individualized Education Plans, 504 Plans, or language-learning needs continue to receive appropriate access.
These updates are part of our commitment to creating learning environments where technology supports student learning, safety, wellness, and healthy development.
