All families play a role in helping make sure schools receive the funding and resources students need.

San Diego Unified is asking families to complete the Local Control Funding Formula, or LCFF, form for the 2026-27 school year. The information collected through this short form helps ensure schools receive all of the state funding for which they are eligible.

Families can complete the LCFF form through the PowerSchool Parent Portal beginning May 4, 2026.

To complete the form:

  1. Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account at https://powerschool.sandi.net
  2. Select the LCFF Data Collection in the left hand navigation.
  3. Complete and submit the short form for your student.
  4. Need help? Reference this step-by-step guide in English, Spanish, Vietnamese

(Please Note: The LCFF form is not available in the PowerSchool mobile app, but can be completed by visiting https://powerschool.sandi.net from the internet browser on any device – phone, tablet, laptop or computer. Parents/guardians must log in using their own Parent Portal account. The LCFF form is not available through student accounts.)

All responses are confidential and are used to help support school funding.

More About LCFF Form

We’re asking you to complete a brief, two-question survey that plays a crucial role in directing state funding to your child's school. The LCFF survey is authorized by the state, and all information you provide is kept confidential.

By completing this survey, you help ensure your child’s school receives the resources and funding they need to thrive, such as:

  • Extended Enrichment Learning: Summer, after-school, and Saturday programs (including tutoring, summer school, and intervention) along with other extracurricular activities to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of your student(s).
  • Classroom Supplies: Instructional materials, technology equipment, and instructional software to enhance learning.
  • Waivers/Fee Reductions: For AP, IB, SAT, ACT exams, and college applications.

The survey only takes a few seconds to complete, asking two questions: the number of people living in your home and your total monthly income range.
