Parfait-ly Satisfying: A Yogurt Parfait Taste Test at Hoover High School
Posted on 01/30/2026

At Hoover High School, the quad buzzed a little louder than usual during lunch as students gathered around for a yogurt parfait taste test hosted by Sandi Coast Cafe along with Three Little Birds Granola. Clear cups layered with creamy yogurt, fresh fruit, and crunchy granola quickly became the center of attention.

As students sampled the parfaits, conversations shifted from “this is good” to “what’s in this?” That’s where Three Little Birds really stood out. On the surface, granola seems like the perfect healthy snack; but in reality, finding a truly healthy granola can be tricky. Many store brands are packed with added sugars and allergens.

Three Little Birds Granola flips that script. It’s non-GMO, gluten-free, and 100% allergen-free, making it a great option for a wide range of students. It’s made with whole grains, contains zero refined sugars, and still delivers the kind of crunch and flavor students actually enjoy.

“As a chef, I absolutely love introducing kids to new and exciting flavors, or experimenting with different flavor combinations, like using citrus zest in granola parfaits," said Stacy Sloan, chef and owner of Three Little Birds Granola. “It’s all about making healthy eating fun and interesting for the kids!”

Taste tests like this show how school meals support good nutrition throughout the school day. When students enjoy what they’re eating, they’re more likely to stay energized, focused, and ready to learn throughout the day. It’s all part of supporting student wellness, one bite at a time.
