Parentally Placed Private School Students (PPPSS)

San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) conducts child find activities and accepts referrals from parents/guardians of students attending private schools, as well as private school personnel; if there are concerns with a student potentially having a disability that would require special education services. All assessments are completed at one of our SDUSD comprehensive school sites.

If a parentally placed private school student is eligible for special education services under an Individualized Education Program (IEP), but student remains in a not-for-profit private school setting, the student would be eligible for a Specialized Education Individualized Service Plan (SEISP), which provides consultation to the parents and/or private school the student attends two times a year.
