School Rules

Students will:

  • follow the directions of ALL staff members at ALL times.
  • be in proper dress at all times. (See Dress Code policy below)
  • be SEATED in class with materials ready (or on PE roll numbers in uniform) when the bell rings at the beginning of each class, otherwise they are marked tardy.
  • carry their planner at all times. The planner is the only acceptable hall pass.
  • remain on campus the entire school day unless they have been properly excused with an appropriate pass.
  • respect school property and the property of others. Defacing/destroying school property(e.g., graffiti/rock throwing) may result in arrest and/or suspension.
  • refrain from profanity, vulgar behavior, sexual harassment or intimidation. These things will not be tolerated by anyone on the Taft campus.
  • not bring any item listed under "forbidden items" to school including electronic devices, ear buds, ear phones, games or any other device that are visible will be confiscated. The school is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • keep cell phones turned OFF and stored out of sight while on the school campus. Students may use phones off site before or after school hours.
  • abide by the district Zero Tolerance Policy. (See "Facts for Parents" booklet)
  • adhere to the following honesty policy: Cheating, plagiarism, theft, alteration of materials or forgery will not be permitted.
  • not have food, gum, or drinks (except for water) in the classrooms. No gum allowed on campus.
  • not vandalize, tag, or graffiti on school property or any items including backpacks, notebooks, books, binders, clothing, homework or any other object that is brought to school.
  • not engage in public display of affection (PDA.)
