From Feedback to Flavor: A Menu Inspired by You

More than 6,000 students, parents, and staff participated in our recent nutrition survey, and one message came through loud and clear: local sourcing matters.

In fact, 94% of parents and 68% of students shared that we need to serve food from local farmers and ranchers.

Sandi Coast Cafe is turning that feedback into action. One of their newest menu additions in the middle/high school menu is the Quesabirria. The entree features beef from Harris Ranch Beef, a California beef company known for supplying high-quality beef to fine dining restaurants.

Meanwhile, the elementary lunch menu features an organic chicken drumstick from Mary’s Chicken (sold at Whole Foods). 

This is just one example of how your voice is helping shape menus that are not only delicious but also support local agriculture.
