Carver Elementary students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a special “Nuestra Cultura” event that honored the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities.
As part of the celebration, students participated in an essay contest, researching and writing about inspiring leaders, cultural traditions, and the impact of Hispanic and Latinx communities locally and globally. Topics ranged from historical figures and contemporary changemakers to family traditions, music, food, and language.
Winners were invited to proudly read their essays at the Nuestra Cultura celebration, sharing their learning and personal reflections with classmates, staff, and families. Their words highlighted not only academic growth, but also creativity, cultural pride, and appreciation for diversity on campus.
The event reinforced Carver’s commitment to honoring student voice and building a school community where all cultures are seen, valued, and celebrated.
