Webster Students Explore the Brain with Visiting Neuroscientists

Students at Webster Elementary recently had a unique opportunity to learn directly from practicing neuroscientists. Members of the NW Noggin outreach group spent the day on campus, bringing brain science to life in Webster classrooms.

During their visit, the neuroscientists talked with students about careers in neuroscience, describing the many ways scientists study the brain and nervous system to better understand how we think, feel, and learn. They then guided students through an arts-integrated activity, using creative projects to show how the brain uses its senses to take in information and perceive the world around us.

The visit not only sparked curiosity about how the brain works, but also helped students see themselves as future scientists, artists, and problem-solvers—showing that big ideas in neuroscience can start with hands-on learning in elementary school.
