Students Speak Out for Climate Contest

Students Speak Out for Climate Contest
Posted on 10/11/2025

The Green Schools Conference (GSC) is coming to San Diego February 2026 and invites students to share their perspectives on climate change and environmental justice through the second annual Students Speak Out for Climate Contest.

Now in its 16th year, the GSC brings nearly 600 people together from around the country to learn about and plan the future of green schools. This is an opportunity for young leaders to amplify their voices and inspire change by addressing critical environmental issues from their unique point of view.

California public and private school students in grades 3-12 can submit a 500-word essay or two-minute video in response to the provided prompt. Winning students will receive a prize and be recognized during the 2026 Green Schools Conference at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Marina & Spa during the Opening Plenary on February 17.
