School Finder Directions

Entering a Street Address to Find Schools
1. Choose a language
  • Use the dropdown menu at the top of the upper-right corner of the map to select English, Spanish, Vietnamese, or Tagalog.
2. Enter a Street Address to Find Schools
  • Locate the blue search bar at the top of the page.
  • Enter the address. As you type, suggested addresses will populate below the address bar. Select the desired address.
  • If you don’t know the address, or it cannot be found, pan and zoom within the map to find your area of interest and click within the map to identify the schools associated with that location.
3. View Results
  • After selecting an address from the results or pressing the Enter key after typing an address, the map will zoom to the address, indicated by a marker.
  • If the address or selected location is within the school district, the attendance boundary results for the address are displayed either to the left of the map or below the map for each division—Elementary, Middle and High Schools.
  • If an address is not within SDUSD then the following text will be shown either to the left of the map below the address search bar or below the map, “Address cannot be found or the address is outside of district boundary.”
  • To print the boundary results, use the printer icon in the lower left corner below the map.
  • To search for another address, click on the X in the address bar to clear the previous search or click on the red, Clear Search Location button. Re-enter the new address.
4. Explore the Map Using the Map Tools on the Right Side of the Map
  • Use the map tools to view the legend, set the default view, go to your location, and turn map layers on or off.
  • ZOOM OUT to see multiple boundaries. Elementary, Middle, High and District boundaries can be turned on and off by using the layers button.
  • The LEGEND can be viewed by clicking the legend button.
  • To zoom the map to its initial extent, click default map view button.
  • Use the find my location button to zoom the map to your present location.

 

If you are having problems finding a school, first ensure that you entered the address correctly. Please ensure you are using the correct street name spelling for the address you are looking up. Please call (619) 725-5668 for additional assistance.

If your address is not found, it is possible that you live outside of San Diego Unified boundaries. Please note that San Diego Unified does not cover all parts of the city of San Diego. Please visit our webpage do I live within the district? for a map of San Diego Unified's boundary. Also, you may visit San Diego County Office of Education for assistance with determining what school district you live in.
