On January 9, 2018 the Board approved the establishment of a Board Advisory Committee on School Board Member Elections.  The advisory committee meetings will be noticed, open to the public, subject to the Brown Act, and would include at least one meeting in each Board sub-district area.  The Elections Committee members will include one representative from each of the following groups, Board advisory committees (DELAC, DAC, CAC), PTA, CSEA, SDEA, AASD, POA and the Student Equity Coalition (nine members).   In addition, each Board member will recommend appointment of three (3) representatives at large, one of whom would be a student representative (15 members).

Trustees Barrera and Whitehurst-Payne presented the Board’s Elections Committee proposal as approved on January 9, 2018 to the San Diego City Council Rules Committee on January 10, 2018.
