Four Area C Schools Recognized as Purple Star Schools for Supporting Military-Connected Students

San Diego Unified is proud to celebrate four Area C schools recognized by the California Department of Education as 2026 California Purple Star Schools – a designation honoring schools that go above and beyond to support military-connected students and their families.

The Purple Star program recognizes schools that provide strong transition supports for military-connected students, including clear resources for families and welcoming practices that help students feel connected when they arrive at a new school.

San Diego is home to one of the nation’s largest military communities, and San Diego Unified serves nearly 8,000 military-connected students. Through district partnerships and school-based supports, we remain committed to ensuring every military-connected student feels welcomed, supported, and ready to learn.
