SD Unified Evaluating Freeze of Federal Funds for Education

We are still evaluating the possible impact of federal education funding being withheld by the U.S. Department of Education. Based on the information released by the Department of Education, this could impact approximately $13 million of federal funding that is used to support educator professional development, multilingual education, academic enrichment and before-and-after-school programs. Our Finance Department is currently analyzing other non-federal funding sources that could be leveraged if federal funds are not disbursed.
